Every engagement starts with a visit. Not a call, not a questionnaire. Somebody from our team stands on your lot and works through the same list every time.
Outside
- Dispenser condition, card reader compliance, and how long the last outage took to fix
- Tank monitoring records and the date of the last tightness test
- Canopy lighting, signage, and striping, which tell you how the site is being maintained
- Traffic flow and where cars stack up at the busiest hour
Inside
- Cooler stock levels against what is actually selling
- Shelf pricing versus POS pricing, which disagree more often than owners expect
- Cash handling procedure, and whether it is written down anywhere
- Staff coverage across a full week, not just the day we visit
The back office
- The last three months of statements and how long they took to close
- Fuel supply contract terms and the renewal date
- Permits and licences with their expiry dates
- Who has access to what, including former employees who still do
The two that usually surprise people
Shelf pricing that does not match the POS is the first. It is common, it is quiet, and it costs money on every transaction until somebody reconciles the two.
Former employee access is the second. Alarm codes, back office logins, and key copies tend to outlast employment by a long margin. It is rarely malicious and it is always worth closing.
